  I was forced into exile if I wanted to be with my husband. The lawyer had told us what we wanted to hear and not the truth. I had to pay off a nursing degree I never got to use. I was unaware that in order to bring my husband to the USA with me we would need an Affidavit of Support. Fortunately after moving to our third country we were allowed to remain together as a family. We both are full time hard working individuals. We are not rich especially after all the immigration expenses, relocating expenses, and recharting new career paths. Although settled we remain thousands of miles from our extended family without the opportunity for our daughter to get to know her cousins.
