American Families United exists because U.S. citizens and their families are still being separated by an immigration system that too often leaves families with no realistic way forward. We work with those families every day. We help people find reliable information, connect with others facing the same challenges, tell their stories, and make sure the people writing our immigration laws hear directly from the families living under them.
That work takes resources, and we rely on people like you to make it possible.
The Most Helpful Way to Support Us
If $25 a month is something you can comfortably give, becoming a recurring donor is one of the most helpful ways to support our work. A one-time gift helps us with the work happening today. A recurring gift gives us something we can count on next month, too. That dependable support helps us plan ahead, maintain resources, respond when families need us, and keep pushing this work forward throughout the year.
$25 a month is $300 over the course of a year, and a community of people giving consistently at that level can give AFU the stability to keep showing up.

American Families United and AFU Action work toward the same larger goal: keeping American families together. But they have different legal structures and fund different kinds of work.
American Families United

Your contribution to American Families United supports the work we do directly with families and the resources that help our community understand and navigate a constantly changing immigration system. Your support helps us maintain and improve our family resources, provide education and community support, keep information current as policies change, organize our members, and make sure families facing separation are not trying to navigate these challenges alone.
AFU Action
501(c)(4) | Contributions are not tax-deductible
AFU Action supports the advocacy required to change the laws that are hurting American families. That includes our congressional advocacy, work supporting legislation such as H.R. 2366 and the Dignity Act, and our fly-in program, which brings families to Washington, D.C. to sit down face to face with their own representatives and tell them what these policies mean in real life.
Families should have a voice in the laws that determine whether they can remain together. AFU Action helps make sure that voice reaches Congress.
What Your Support Makes Possible
A donation to AFU is not going toward some distant idea of what we hope to do someday. It supports work that is happening now.
It helps us keep accurate resources available to families when immigration policies change. It helps us organize calls and programs where families can learn from one another. It helps us support members going through some of the hardest periods of their lives. It helps us bring families into meetings with lawmakers and their staff. And it helps us continue building the long-term pressure needed to change laws that have separated U.S. citizens from their spouses and children.
Some of this work happens publicly. Much of it does not. But it happens every day.
