Kali Pliego is an American citizen who was born and raised in Rochester, MN, and now lives in Minneapolis where she and her husband are raising a 3 year old son. Kali has a background in community development that she puts to use in her current professional role.
Despite her commitment to uplifting her community, she was denied the stimulus payment simply because she filed her taxes with her husband, who is an individual taxpayer identification number (ITIN) holder.
Please support Kali’s right to equal treatment under the law by urging her Senators and Representative to support legislation to fix this problem for citizens like her.

Kali filed her taxes with her husband, who is an ITIN holder. Because of that, a clause in the CARES Act prevented her from receiving a stimulus check. This is wrong.
We, the undersigned, support Kali, and we urge you to support the passage of H.R. 6800, the HEROES Act, with all possible haste.
